Song: Horn
Album: Pink Moon
Transcribed by Geoff Dugwyler / original transcription David Krnavek
The first transcription of this song called for a complex alternate
tuning and capo'ing at some arbitrary(!) fret. I didn't want to do that
to play one short song... so here is a transcription in a more
tightly-knit pattern.
It's just a series of melodic compound intervals (and then some matching
simple counterparts) with a few harmonic intervals/dyads thrown in. For
reference, the interval names are included above the tab. (This is a
great song with which to learn some music theory.)
Note: Anything played on the 9th fret should probably be barred.
Also notice how expertly he controls the volume, rhythm and vibrato.
Listen to the piece, and try to emulate it... it's not easy.
[Intro ] Ma14 P15 P12 P11 Ma10 P12
e------------------------9----------------------------
B-------------------13~~------------------------------
G----------------------------13~~-----11~~-10--13~~---
D-----------------------------------------------------
A-----------------------------------------------------
E--9--9-9-99-9-9-9-9-------9--------9--------9--------
Ma14 P15 P12 P11 Ma10 P12 P11 Ma10 Octave
e-------9---------------------------------------------
B--13~~-----------------------------------------------
G-----------13~~-----11~~-10--13~~-----11~~-10--------
D-----------------------------------------------11~~--
A-----------------------------------------------------
E-9-------9--------9--------9--------9--------9-------
Now it's dropped down an octave, & the beginning sort of repeats
lower.
Ma7 Oc P5 Ma7 Oc P5 Ma7 Oc
e-----------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------------------------
D--10~~-11----------10~~-11---------10-----11---------
A-----------11~~-------------11~~---------------------
E-9-------9--------9-------9--------9------9----------
Then it repeats from the beginning, minus the introductory C#'s, but
instead of the 3rd passage being played again, this is played at
the end:
e--------------------------
B--------------------------
G--------------------------
D--10----------------------
A--------------------------
E--9-------------9---------
